Tropical Cyclone three-day outlook for the Western Region
Issued at 2:00pm WST on Saturday the 13th of November 2010
Valid until midnight WST Tuesday
Existing Cyclones in the Western region:
Nil.
Potential Cyclones:
There are no significant lows in the area. An area of convection lies north of
Cocos Islands and is moving west, with the possibility of a weak low developing
near 08S 97E today. It is expected to remain north of 10 south on Sunday and
Monday, slipping south of 10S on Tuesday. As the system moves southwards the
shear it is experiencing will gradually decrease allowing it some potential for
development.
Likelihood of there being a tropical cyclone in the the Western Region:
Sunday : Very Low
Monday : Low
Tuesday : Moderate.
